Applications Open for Funding Supporting UN Internships

The Charles Colvington Foundation is excited to announce that applications are now open for Manx students interested in undertaking a United Nations internship this year.

About the Foundation

Founded in October 2018, the Charles Colvington Trust is a Manx registered charity dedicated to providing financial assistance to graduates from the Isle of Man who have secured a place in a UN internship. The foundation aims to support internships starting from August to December, with applications for funding accepted until 31st May.

Empowering Manx Students

By offering funding, the Charles Colvington Foundation seeks to enable more young people to benefit from the educational and professional development opportunities provided by the United Nations Internship Programme. Internship durations can vary from 3 weeks to twelve months, depending on the chosen area and location.

Diverse Internship Opportunities

The United Nations offers internships across a wide range of disciplines and areas of interest, allowing participants to contribute to the UN's mission of promoting lasting peace, advancing disarmament, defending human rights, alleviating poverty, and combating climate change. Previous recipients have shared their enriching experiences working in cities like Bangkok and New York, which can be viewed on the Charles Colvington Foundation website.

A Unique Opportunity

Internships with the UN provide a unique chance to work towards global goals and be part of an international effort to address critical issues. The foundation's support ensures that Manx graduates can represent the Isle of Man on an international stage while gaining invaluable experience.

How to Apply

For those considering a United Nations internship, previous recipient Finn Shimmin has detailed the steps from researching opportunities to applying for funding through the Charles Colvington Foundation in his blog post.
